Mats Axell

Mats founded Censor M&A in 2004 together with Jonas Brogårdh and has for over 20 years worked as an advisor in ownership matters focusing on ownership changes. With a background as an entrepreneur and company owner, Mats has started and developed two companies that over time have been sold on the international arena. In addition, Mats has worked as a senior investment manager at a listed investment company, as well as marketing and information director for a listed company.

Mats has extensive experience of working with company owners and entrepreneurs with ownership and succession planning. His work often results in an Ownership Agenda with the aim of creating unity and clarity in ownership matters - not infrequently with the result that a change of ownership occurs either in the short term or from a longer perspective – a process that is referred to as Långkok® (‘Slow cooking’). In addition to Censor, Mats has a number of board assignments in owner-managed companies. Furthermore, Mats runs ‘The Board Pool’ together with colleagues - a national association of professional board members with the aim of contributing to skills development and exchange of experience in ownership and board issues.
